Where aluminum shines
- Front yards: open styles fit the height and “open fence” limits many townships set for front yards.
- Pools: pool-code panels with narrow picket spacing and self-closing, self-latching gates.
- Slopes: rackable panels follow the ground instead of stair-stepping.
- Pets: puppy-picket bottoms close up the lower spacing for small dogs.
Heights and styles
Common heights are 4, 5 and 6 ft in flat-top, spear-top and finial styles, with 2- or 3-rail designs. Powder-coated finishes, usually black, won’t rust and need only an occasional rinse.
Local notes for Lansdale & eastern Montgomery County
- Upper Dublin caps front-yard fences at 4 ft and requires a gate at least 36 in wide on each street frontage. We plan the gate locations into your layout.
- Montgomery Township generally limits front yards to decorative fences up to 3 ft (4 ft along a major street), so front-yard aluminum is often a 3 ft style there.
Typical installed cost
