Why homeowners pick vinyl
- No painting, staining or sealing, ever.
- Won’t rot, splinter or attract insects.
- Solid privacy panels block sightlines completely, which works well for close neighbors and pools.
- Available in white, tan, gray and wood-grain textures.
What separates a good vinyl install
Vinyl looks alike on the showroom floor. In the ground it doesn’t. Panel wall thickness, the rail profile and reinforcement all make a difference. So does what’s inside the gate posts: we reinforce gate posts so gates don’t sag or drift out of latch. Posts are set in concrete below frost depth, and on sloped yards we step the panels so the bottom gap stays even.
Vinyl styles
Full privacy, privacy with lattice or picket accent tops, semi-privacy, and 3–4 ft picket for front yards. Pool-code configurations are available. See pool fences.
Local notes for Lansdale & eastern Montgomery County
- Solid vinyl privacy is a rear-yard fence in most of our townships. Cheltenham allows only open fences in the required front yard, and Lansdale Borough limits front yards to 3 ft open styles. For the front, vinyl picket is the usual match.
- Upper Gwynedd allows up to 6 ft 6 in in required yards, a little more than most neighbors, so a 6 ft panel plus post caps still fits.
