Residential chain link that doesn’t look industrial
Black vinyl-coated fabric with black posts and rails nearly disappears against a lawn and trees, and it resists corrosion better than bare galvanized. For privacy, add slats or plant a hedge along it.
Built to spec
- Line posts spaced no more than 10 ft apart; heavier terminal posts at ends, corners and gates.
- Top rail with a bottom tension wire so the fabric stays tight and pets can’t push under.
- Posts set in concrete below frost depth.
- Walk gates and 10–12 ft double drive gates.
Commercial chain link
Taller security fencing, privacy slats, barbed-wire arms where zoning allows, and dumpster enclosures. See commercial fencing.
Local notes for Lansdale & eastern Montgomery County
- Lansdale Borough doesn’t allow all-wire fencing, so we recommend a different material there. Ask us before you settle on chain link.
- In Cheltenham and Abington, chain link can still work in rear yards; front yards follow the open-fence and height limits.
Typical installed cost
